How to Swatch the Tri-Tone Workbooks

All of our Tri-Tone Worksheet books come uncolored so you can color them with your own tools. (It would be impossible for us to pre-color them for everyone who orders.) Instead, we print them on the appropriate paper for the tool (e.g. colored pencil paper for Prismas and Polys; marker paper for Blicks; watercolor paper for Tombows and Inktense; etc.) so when you color them with your tools you will see exactly what the colors look like–which makes it perfect when picking colors from that tool set for a coloring page. Furthermore, we have included in the books the tool names and numbers we feel best match the colors of an artist color wheel–with a light, medium and dark option (hence “tri-tone.)

These Prismacolor Premier® Colored Pencils reference worksheets are not sponsored by Prismacolor. Prismacolor and Prismacolor Premier are trademarks of Berol Corporation and are registered in the United States and other countries. This book is a set of Coloring Bliss Tri-Tone Worksheets for Prismacolor Premier colored pencils that will help you quickly and easily choose colors for your next coloring project. This 42-Page book is printed on our high-quality colored pencil paper. It contains worksheets that will not only help you pick colors, but also learn a little color theory in the process. Here’s what comes in the book:

  • Artist Color Wheel: a full-color printed artist color wheel. (Note that this section of the book is printed full-color. The Prismacolor-specific sections are printed black and white.)
  • Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils Color Wheel: an artist color wheel you color with your pencils–shows the exact Prismacolor pencils to use.
  • Premium Color Scheme Selector: our color scheme selector tool with the most popular color schemes.
  • Prismacolor Tri-Tone Sets Swatch Chart: color this master swatch chart with your pencils–shows the exact Prismacolor pencils to use.
  • Prismacolor Tri-Tone Mini Wheels: color the mini wheels with your pencils–shows the exact Prismacolor pencils to use. Helps you see how the light, medium and dark colors look together.

  • Prismacolor Tri-Tone Color Schemes: color the color scheme charts with your pencils–shows the exact Prismacolor pencils to use. Includes color schemes for all of the colors found on the artist color wheel!

Oh boy, have I got a lot of coloring to do!

    Sheri Woodworth (verified owner)

I’m so glad that I bought this. I think I do fairly well with picking colors but only up to a certain point.
It’s very helpful to see color combinations that I wouldn’t have thought to use. When I started to color the worksheets, I realized how much work went into pulling it all together. I also wondered if I would survive coloring all those sheets! 😮 As a beginning colorist, the repetition of coloring the same colors in different groupings will increase my comfort level to “go outside the box”. I’ll get a lot of practice to!
Jennifer, thank you so much for putting a lot of time and effort into creating this invaluable tool.

I am still coloring in the tri-tone sets. And I think I may be in over my skill set level. I have the 175 (?) set and am wondering why limit oneself to 36 colors? And where are the browns and grays? So, a bit of confusion yet, but I will keep on, want to learn more; this seemed a good way to do that. I have been coloring 3-4 years, my method has been to grab what looks good and go with it. This apparently has taken Jennifer a LONG time to put together and I am grateful. Not giving up.

I’m new to coloring “with intention”. I’m impressed with all the time and energy you have put into your worksheets and tutorials. I’m going to give you a “try”. I anticipate becoming VERY familiar with my pencils and knowledgeable about the colored pencil art medium.

    Absolutely Delighted

Greatly impressed with the care you took with the presentation and packaging of my order – pure quality from start to finish and everything arrived in pristine condition. I cannot wait to get swatching and then to colouring. The quality of the paper and the comprehensive instruction are impressive and easy to follow. I am brand new to colouring and your Tri-Tone manuals are now my go-to for what I know will be early success. Thank you so much.

All I have to say is, wow. I am an acrylic artist that fell in love with colored pencils recently. I have learned a little about color and using the color wheel but this was hands on and fun to color(still working on it). The best part is learning how to set up the tri-color sets in my pencil cases, yes cases 😁. I think I’m addicted and I love it. Jennifer and Steve did a great job putting this together and it is fantastic. Now of to finish coloring it. ❤️

I love the paper quality and the ability to color this in for myself. I’m the type that likes to do things themselves and this workbook is great for that and helps make color picking easier! I highly recommend this product for visual and mechanical learners to strengthen their skills!

Just What I Was Looking For

    Donna Toledo (verified owner)

This is a very high quality resource tool that I will now use every time I color with my Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils. Better yet is that you can follow along with Jennifer as she shows you just how to fill in the swatch pages and organize your pencils. I’m loving the Tri-Tone Sets page and the swatch strip for my pencil case. All of the guess work has been replaced with an extremely well though-out system of organizing and selecting colors in various combinations – so many I would have never thought to use together. I am very pleased with the quality and content of this book. This is your one-stop color theory, sample swatch and full color reference guide.

I purchased a membership just so I could download the Tritons workbook and it failed. I tried to download again and now it says I can’t. I don’t see anyway to contact someone. Is this this hard for any downloads? Help

  9. Question

    Lois VanDress (verified owner)

I’m confused because in one area it says the book is entirely UN colored. Then in another area of the description it says full-colored. Which is it.

Hi Lois, I’m sorry for the confusion. There is a small section of the book that is printed full color; however, all of the Prismacolor-specific sections are printed black and white (uncolored). I have changed the wording a bit to try to make that more clear. Thank you for the heads-up.

I have a wish list for Steve. Can we have an option when ordering tri-tone sets workbooks To not have the color wheel and color scheme selector? Don’t get me wrong I love them but I now have two sets and only need one.

    Dawn Warner,
I love this. I have a hard time matching colors and this is perfect. I am fairly new to coloring so this is a great help. I love the color wheels too. It is obvious that you and Steve put a lot of time into making this. I watch you all the time on YouTube and have learned a lot and expanded my knowledge of coloring. Thanks!!
