I love to swatch my art tools! Beyond the practical sides of swatching (cataloging a set of coloring tools, seeing what their colors are, testing the limits of the tools, getting to know how the tools perform, etc.) I love seeing the beautiful colors neatly displayed in front of me like a menu of possibilities. Swatching inspires me, relaxes me, and it has become one of my favorite artistic pastimes.
Swatch Bliss is a place for you to discover the joys of swatching. Every swatch page has been thoughtfully designed by me to give you plenty of space to record all the important information about each of your art tools: brand, set, color name, color number, date, and miscellaneous notes. Write it all down or just those things that are important to you. I have also given you a generous swatching square with room to try a gradient, different line pressures, doodles, or even smears…try it all!!!
Swatch Bliss comes in multiple volumes to fit multiple needs. No matter which Swatch Bliss volume you choose you can be sure that it will be printed on my favorite artist quality papers (you choose from available options at the time of your order.) The books are carefully bound and ready for your to fill with all your beautiful colors.

Sheila Klein –
Are you thinking about possibly doing one of these with watercolor paper? I would love to be able to swatch my paints in one place.

Question
Sari –
I see on the custom ordering page, there is no option as to what color paper. Is there a way to have the same set in each of the three colors? Also, don’t certain pencils work better on certain types of paper? Is there one type of paper that is best for most brands of pencils?

Melanie Gomez –
I just purchased the new swatch book which I got customized Mostly with the 72 count pages and a few extra. Let me tell you a funny story. For some reason I had it in my mind that I could pick 60 pages and I was good to go. I picked 10 of this 20 of that 10 of her Customize pictures and so on. I was so excited until I looked up at the price and let’s just say I probably could have gotten a bar of gold for what I was going to pay lol. Anywho I started Scratching my head like where did I go wrong so I listen to Jennifer and Steve again tell me how this all worked. in the fine print that said about 48 pages maybe less .that was still a little on the pricey side. so finally I pulled myself together and ended up with about 25 or so which honestly is perfect and I’m so excited to start filling her out. Now the only problem I had was I ordered the book on the first of June and it never takes them long at all the put an order together. It actually was the post office fault I believe because it took over 20 days for me to receive it so I was bummed about that cause my other two others took hardly no time at all.when I first started swatching I made my own
Then I seen Jenns and that’s all she wrote. I had to have one of her swatch books actually i believe I’m going to Eventually get the whole collection.😁 so well worth it.

No we don’t have one specific to Blick pencils; however, we do have a 72 swatch chart you can download (you will have to fill in the names and numbers of the pencils though.) https://www.coloringbliss.com/72-swatches-chart/

I was have trouble looking at the caps of my markers, glitter, & gel pens to see what was the correct color. Your Swatch Book solves that issue. What a wonderful book to have all of your mediums in one great book. I loved that I could customize the book to meet my needs. I want to thank both Jennifer & Steve for your hard work in putting this together.

Sabrina Brisker –
I want to order vol 1 and vol 2 together on mix media paper how would I do that

Admin Jennifer Stay –
Do you mean together in the same book? If so, we’re unable to do that mainly because the book would be too thick to bind! 🙂

I purchased the searching catalog with the three different kinds of paper and double swatches so I have 20 pages for each section. Highly recommend doing the same if you want to have all your swatches in the same place. I especially love the chipboard back to make the book more rigid.

I am working through all of my products and swatching them. I ordered the multimedia version. One of the best things is taking the time to revisit the products I have as I often get lazy and grab the last thing I used. Thank you for creating this!

I have a couple of different swatch books, but none of them can compare or come close with the quality I got from Coloring Bliss. I was able to choose the paper I wanted, and how many swatches on each page. The paper I choose is of much better quality. Not flimsy and any type of media I use, goes down perfectly! Thank you Coloring Bliss for such a wonderful product! So happy and Love it so much….truly feeling grateful and Bliss-full!!!

So pleased that I finally ordered my very own multi-media swatching catalog, and the Bliss Blotting Page. Everything arrived in great condition and within expected delivery date.
For so many years I use to scribble a few samples of what colors I thought I wanted to use, on a blank sheet of paper and wasted so much time, not to mentioned using up my expensive pencil leads. Now I just flip through my swatching catalog and viola’, it’s there. Having the multi-media paper has been great for my CaliArt Pens and various watercolor pencils too.

Question
Amanda Brown –
I was wondering if the mixed media paper is as good for colored pencils as the colored pencil paper. Just trying to decide
if I need two different books. I would love your opinion Jennifer.. Thankyou, Amanda Brown.

Jennifer Stay (verified owner) –
Yes, the mixed-media paper does well with colored pencils because it does have a small amount of “tooth.” It’s not as good as the colored pencil paper for colored pencils, but it still does a good job. 🙂

I am interested in a swatch book for colored pencils, but also water color pencils, intense & neo II’s. What do you suggest? Do I need a separate book for watercolor swatching?

Question
Lisa –
I’m totally confused as to what to order. I would like a book to keep all my swatches in. Yours is great. I mainly use colored pencils and watercolor colored pencils…but I do have loads of watercolors, acrylics, markers, pastels, and oil pastels that I would like to get into this book. Also, I do use white paper, black paper, tan paper, canvas, etc. I’m not a professional by any means, I just play. I’m not sure how to proceed from here. What do you suggest? I need budget friendly, all in one book, advice. Thanks.

Hi Lisa, our books come with one paper type per book, so if you’re wanting to swatch all of that media into one book I would recommend you purchase it on our Mixed-Media paper. We have several swatch book options, including the ability to customize one with various quantities and sizes of swatching squares on a page. Here is a link to check out all of our swatch book options: https://www.coloringbliss.com/shop-swatch-books/
