The long awaited, much anticipated color swatch charts are here (including two Prismacolor 150 charts.) I have made a lot of variations of the charts for you–you can download them below.
In addition to the Prismacolor charts, I have made three generic charts that you can use with any colored pencils including Faber-Castel Polychromos, Crayolas, or even your gel pens and markers.
I also filmed a video full of tips on how to use these charts and a demonstration of me using them.

Thank you so much for these charts! When I first bought my Prismacolor 150 set, all their website had was the 132 (think that was the number) template. I printed 2 of those and filled them in (NOT ideal!). Later I printed the 150 template and filled it in. I’ve found that it’s much easier to pick colors from my handmade swatch charts (for other pencil sets) and realized I would have to make yet another Prismacolor chart. I was not looking forward to that. Your template will make it MUCH easier- thank you!

I JUST purchased the 150 set so this CHART is a FANTASTIC find to use for swatches. Thank you so MUCH! I have a question though. You mentioned that you didn’t colour the swatches on smooth cardstock, what kind of paper did you use? Thanks!
Yay! You’re welcome! For colored pencil coloring I like paper that has a bit of “tooth.” I use a “bristol vellum” paper made by Springhill, but I’m sure there are other good vellum choices as well.

Love these charts. I used the 50-swatch chart to create a Faber-Castell Polychromos 120 swatch chart and a Holbein Artists’ 150 swatch chart. I am happy to send them to you to share with others. Just let me know.

Thank you for sharing these charts. PC will work so much better than the small circles on the chart I have. How do you suggest coloring the more rectangle shapes for the blank 2 page charts? I am thinking more of FCP. I have a book I have entered mine in and would have done them differently had I seen your work first. I put my charts in page protectors, for I am new to coloring and need to refer to the charts frequently.
Have you considered sharing your combinations of pencils that you have put together and numbered on a card clipped to the elastic? I know that would involve a lot of work, but it would certainly help those of us who are new, especially the senior members. Even sharing part of them that you use the most would be helpful. You are so creative and resourceful!! I have already started trying writing down some of the combinations I have come up with, but your ideas give me new combinations and help me get on with my coloring faster. I spend too much time trying to decide what colors to use on a page, and many times put the book away to decide later. Thank you!

Jennifer I have decided to start coloring. I have done a lot of research and watched a lot of videos and by far I like yours the most. I purchased a 150 pack of Prisma colored pencils. Probably the most problem I am having right now is what colors go with what. It seems like most of what I do turns out dark. I know I’m just learning but I think your color chart will help me immensely, thank you for doing that. I am a senior citizen but through the years I have dabbled in different kinds of painting and I love the way you do yours. I have a long way to go…wish me luck and keep the tutorials going!! Thanks….

I bought a work book on amazon for 9.99 that has several, several chart options, but I like yours much more. I did print out your examples on Bristol Vellum paper, and have finished the one for my 150 count set of Prismas, Now I’m on to my 120 count set of Faber Castell Polychromos Color Pencil Set – Tin of 120, plus the 12 count metallic set, then onto my Derwents… Well you get the idea. I only have the 72 prisma set (for now) but having this chart to fill out is great. Being new to coloring I’m finding picking colors can be challenging. I’m starting to do like you just go with whatever color that goes with my mood instead of the rules of the color wheel. All that is way too much thought.

can you please post a picture of the Prismacolor Premier 24 chart you did. i have that set and i’m anal about having missing spaces, so i can’t use the other charts you made. but i loved the way you laid it out and i want to do mine the same way. you showed it for a quick second in the video, but i didn’t now get a clear enough look at the color layout. thanks and your page is amazing. just found you 🙂

I recently purchased a Prismacolor pencil set. In searching for swatch charts, I found your sight and I’m excited about learning techniques to color. Hi Jennifer, I watched your videos a few days ago, and the live videos on YouTube, I really appreciate you taking the time to demonstrate usage of coloring media, I have already learned a few things, especially about the gel pens. Prismacolor color pens are my favorite, though only have the 48 pack, looking forward to upgrading to the 150, however, I should be able to blend colors to ge a few more colors. Thanks for the blending charts and the free coloring pages. I continue to watch your videos.

Great tools for charting the colors. I am planning create a different sort of swatch pattern based on the “Munsell” color model. I want to combine tools using like media, but from different brands, and using your idea “tri-color” shading I want to be able to see “all yellows” (e.g.) together to be able truly blend/shade/create a “complete” single color spectrum for each of the 12 main colors.
QUERY: Just wondering if your have ever done anything like that.
When will the customizable swatch book be available and will we be able to add our own descriptions? Really looking forward to this tool.

Welcome 🙂 No, we haven’t created these specific for that paper; however, you could always print it on black or colored paper and see if it shows up okay.

When I didn’t win the contest (wishful thinking – lol), I took the plunge, broke the bank and ordered the 150 set from Amazon that arrived today. I downloaded all the Prismacolor swatch sheets and I’m ready to start switching!
