Wow! I am a long time follower and longtime fan of Ohuhu! The one thing I struggle with is the existing (or really non-existing)color system! I chose to get the Oahu 72 and Oahu Patel set many many years ago. As you know, this means my color names and swatches are VERY different from everyone else! Most will go for the brush tip…I was starting out and I am also a penny pincher. What I don’t understand with the new color system(s?) is how you could release a 24 set and NOT include any PURPLE shades! I don’t get how they can have a 24 set and a 36 set that do not feature the same colors at all…it sounds like more of a mess…if that was even possible!!

I have the 320 Honolulu markers and have been waiting for ink refills to become available for 16 months or so now, they are always sold out. I’m at the point where I’m looking into copic inks to refill them but can’t find anything where someone has converted the colours online…….. any ideas?

I thought this was an informative video and was interested in hearing what Jennifer and Steve thought of the new brush nib for the Honolulu Plus markers. I am fortunate that I have a complete set of the Ohuhu Honolulu, so I will hold off for now on a purchase of the new Honolulu Plus series. I will definitely be watching next week’s video to find out about the Ohuhu acrylic markers. I would love a coloring book with small panels that could be colored more quickly. Some days I want to color but just don’t have the time to finish a larger page.

I bought my Ohuhu Honolulu markers based on your review. I got the 200 set to start and still need the additional set. I had to leave Australia suddenly and move home to Ireland when my father had a heart attack. I had to leave all my art supplies behind so winning some would be really lovely. I gave hundreds of dollars worth of supplies away and now I have to start again from scratch. Thank you for your amazing lessons and constant inspiration!

Making a comment for the latest giveaway–Ohuhu markers–but not sure why it says to comment on Prismacolor Premier pencils and new coloring book. I presume on the coloring book, the one you are considering with the simple pictures? But it wasn’t too long ago that there was a one you did with people’s pets. As for Prismacolor pencils–I have a long love-hate relationship with these colored pencils dating back to the late 1970s. There is absolutely NO core, compared to the other pencils I’ve tried, that is creamier with a such a deep, vivid color impact with several colors that are difficult to find in any other set. On the other hand, they ALWAYS had a breakage problem and an issue with uneven cores (this is dating back to to the Berols that were still made in the U.S.). I used to hand sharpen them with a knife because when the core was off, it was impossible to get a point on them. The overall quality of the pencils have gone downhill over the years, to the point that suspected fake Prismacolors have out-performed them in side-by-side tests (these are all over YouTube by several different people), There isn’t even a consistency in lettering printed on the pencils, and the barrel color can suddenly change without warning . (I swatch anyway). I usually order mostly open stock to fill in colors I use up (or that break to pieces), so I’m ordering (or actually walking into) legit art and/or craft stores. I’ll get mad at them, then come crawling back to them and giving them ONE MORE CHANCE, and maybe they behave like perfect ladies and gentlemen in my latest coloring book, and I am in LOVE again. Dysfunctional as heck, I tell ya. Especially since I’m considering buying another complete set as soon as I see a fantastic sale price as I’m missing most of my grays now and have given away some of my Prismas to make mini-sets for friends I know who are really talented artists and who are poorer than I am (hopefully the pencils did not break or melt during shipping).
I tried to post a comment here on my love-hate relationship with Prismacolor Pencils. It did ran a bit long, but as of late, I’m finding it difficult to post almost anywhere because I guess some algorithm thinks I’M the bot! Not a bot. Just prone to ADHD “information dump” (learned that phrase only recently and realized that I do this…and…I’m doing it again! Darn!) Well, I am trying again–leaving out my original post because I initially came here because of a giveaway. Love Coloring Bliss. Been a member a long time.

I have only a few Prisma colors I still use my beloved Karisma Colored Pencils. But one of these days I need to start looking for replacing some of them with Prisma colors.

After viewing your video on the best alcohol markers, I purchased the pastel Ohuhu alcohol markers. I would have purchased a cheaper set however, knowing that I can purchase refills and buy their nib replacements appealed to me most.

I’m enjoying the alcohol marker videos. That’s one medium I haven’t tried yet. I’ve mostly been into painting & colored pencils.
