Hi everyone. I know there is a lot of worry right now about changes that are happening because of rules/laws being made by the FTC. I wanted to reassure the Coloring Bliss community that all is well 😊❤️.
There are 2 new rules that may or may not affect us. The first is COPPA or Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule. The second is the newly clarified Advertising and Marketing Disclosure Guidelines for Social Media Influencers.
- COPPA is specifically aimed at YouTube content that is being created and marketed to children. We are and always have been a family friendly art channel that is creating content for adults. YouTube is asking creators to declare if their content is created for children. We feel confident that our content fits comfortably into YouTube’s description of content that should not be affected by this new law. Only time will tell how this will play out, but Steve and I are not too concerned about this.

- Social Media Influencers have had many mixed messages in the past regarding how they should and shouldn’t disclose their business connections with companies. It is good that the FTC is coming out with clear guidelines. We do see some problems with the rules they have come up with, but in general, they are fantastic for all of us! Hopefully, as consumers, we will get more honesty from all influencers moving forward. It has always been our policy at Coloring Bliss to fully disclose all relationships with any companies and to be fully transparent with our followers. So I am pleased to tell you that Steve and I have already been following these new rules with one exception…we will need to visibly post some kind of indication on any photos featuring products that have been gifted to us by companies.

Overall, both rules are great and don’t really change much about how we do things here at Coloring Bliss. Thanks everyone for your support ❤️😊.
