    I would fold in half, open, slide in cutting matt, use exacto to cut the top layer, then seal that envelope. Just sayin’ … might be easier.

    Thank you for such a great idea! I have made 2 so far – the first for my pens and the second for sharpies. My couch has a habit of swallowing my pens and pencils so I’m hoping the clutches solve the problem.

    When I first saw this DIY gel pen clutch video, I thought it wouldn’t work! Boy, was I wrong! I finally got the proper envelopes and, by following your instructions, got one made. Not only does it comfortably hold 40 gel pens, it actually feels sturdy enough to last awhile. Thanks for sharing this idea!
