I tried the derwent drawing pencils in white as a test and Love it. I normally don’t enjoy waxed based pencils, I prefer oil, I would love to have this set.

The white pencil in this set is quite extraordinary. It is so opaque and useful for highlights.. I have a small set of the drawing pencils and find them very useful for colouring backgrounds, owing to their muted colours. Owning the whole set would be wonderful but out of my price range. I watch a lot of your YouTube videos and they have helped me so much with my colouring. Rose is a darling and makes me laugh.

I’ve hesitated buying Derwent pencils due to price, but they have always sounded like a pencil I would probably love. I prefer colored pencils as my medium of choice, but I’ve also really gotten into acrylic markers recently – my favorite is Nicety’s 180 set, which I am using to color in my Lilo and Stitch Color by Numbers book.
I absolutely love the Derwent Colored Pencils to color with. I love to watch your videos every week. I’ve learned alot from you on how to Shade and blend. I hope you keep making these videos, Thankyou Jennifer and Steve!
I am quite excited learning about the new formula! I too am a prismacolor premier loyalist. I dislike dry, scratchy colored pencils. I am an artist, and would love to have more lightfast options for landscapes and plein-air art! I would so love to win the set! ( crosses fingers and toes)

Hi guys, great review. So very generous of you to do a giveaway on these hard to get pencils.
Of the new colours, which would you add to your preferred palette? The original 24 were sufficient for so long that I’m intrigued by the addition of the new colours and which you would find indispensable.
I started with Chinese White from this set many years ago due to the reviews of how good it is. Later on I got the 24 set and totally fell in love. I was really hoping that Derwent expands this range and what a wonderful gift they did for the colouring community by adding more colours. I would love to get this new set.
I looooove earthy, natural color palettes and creating landscapes. Love the thorough way that you all reviewed the new set!

I enjoy my Prismacolor pencils, but, I would love to give DERWENT pencils a try. I use my DERWENT Inktense pencils when I do mixed media and they’re fantastic, so I would expect the same in the drawing pencils. Thank you for your generosity.

I love the new colour range. The 24 set was great for autumnal scenes, but it lacked summer colours. My favour new colours include Mustard, Strawberry, Delft Blue, and Forest.
The only pencil I’ve used from thinking is the white wine on top of pastels to add highlights and ive never found a better white pencil!

I received an unexpected check this week, so I think I’m going to get myself a combo Christmas/Birthday present. My b’day is coming up on January 12th.
Always informative , and delivered in an easy to understand narrative, I’ve been deliberating buying these pencils, but still have plenty of life left in my prismacolours and I love using those, maybe once I can no longer colour anymore using my prismacolours due to my pencils being too short, 🤣 I’ll try these ones.

Prismacolor pencils are actually some of my favorites. I’ve actually taken to collecting old Berol and Eagle Prismacolor pencils. They have a reputation for being better than the modern Prismacolor Premier pencils and I would actually say they are. I think the formula is the same with both, but the build quality on the old ones is better, and you also get more core with the old ones. Still the Prismacolor Premiers are awesome.

I love the more muted colours in the Derwent Drawing sets. As much as I adore a vibrant colourpalette, it’s not always, what’s needed. It may be that I’m just getting older 😅, or I’m branching into more realistic drawings, but these seem so very appealing to me.
I was ridiculously nervous to hear, whether or not, the Derwent Drawing quality remained the same. I’ve long been eyeing them, and wishing for them, so I’m thrilled to hear they’re still going strong. It’s just so rare to see such lovely, muted colour pencils 😍

Hi, I loved your review! Exactly my questions were asked and answered. I own 4 Derwent Drawing pencils I bought them back in 1996…. They are so old: without the closed end and the swirl on the pencils. They feel a bit tacky, heavy but I guess (after your video) that coms with their age. I love these pencils. I have arthritis in my hands and often use these pencils for shading because they are so soft and easy to use. I started off with the 6 set then the 24 set. When they released the 72 set, I purchased some of the individual colors, but the full set is just too expensive here in Australia, so I am so grateful you have made it possible to win a set. I think they are wonderful colors. Since I have been going through a color nature phase, and have plenty of coloring books with pretty pages with all kinds of trees and flowers… these pencils would be a fantastic addition to my current collection of pencils.

I did and I really enjoyed many of that and the other videos you have. I had joined your channel before but didn’t really watch a bunch because I am not a coloring book enthusiast. My Derwent 24 set of drawing pencils are my favorite. I would love to have the new colors.

I highly suggest watching Jess Pritchard’s YouTube video on the process of making the art on the tin using the pencils! It’s a wonderful look into her creative process and it was fun to see some of the other concepts she had! Also the challenge of making a piece that would translate well to all the different tin sets.

I’m still recovering from a very dark and difficult period. I got ‘Creative therapy’ and discovered the joy of coloring and being creative again. Your reviews helped me to decide which pencils were best to buy within my budget. I’m still a newbie, but because drawing and coloring helps me to get out of my head, I’m determined to keep doing it and hopefully keep learning and progressing. An A-brand (Derwent 😍) set would be the icing on the cake ofcourse. But even without it, I still enjoy improving my ‘skills’ with the help of your video’s. Love from Belgium

I fell in love with the drawing pencils when I first bought the 24 set years ago. I still cannot believe they’re expanding the color palette! Glad to see they’re actually improved the formulation, can’t wait to get my hands on them.

I have been making art for 50 years but in the last five years I have been severely ill which has cut my full-time vocation of art making into possibly two hours once a week. I can’t begin to tell you how sad this makes me. Having this box of pencils would be great inspiration to continue on in the one thing that still brings me joy.

Prisma colors have always been my favorite, however, all my other favorite pencils are Derwent. I have been wanting to try these for so long, but I can’t justify the expense as I am chronically ill and can only work part-time. I love the thickness of the core and the color selection is beautiful.

Hi… I love my Derwent Inktense pencils. My daughter used Derwent colored pencils in high school & college. She loved them. During the pandemic she was learning how to create digital art. She really likes grabbing her Apple Pencil & IPad for some relaxing digital art. Learning to create digital art is much easier to handle when you have a toddler & a new baby with you 24/7 during a pandemic lockdown. But when her family comes to visit us for the day… she loves grabbing some cardstock along with my alcohol markers or paints… but she usually grabs several sets of my colored pencils first. I hope you draw my name to win the set of Derwent Drawing Colored Pencils. I’d love to give them to my daughter. Also I love the Swatch Books you used in your Derwent Drawing Colored Pencils video. Next I’m going straight to your site to order a couple of them for me… and some for my daughter. They look like they are the perfect swatching book that I have been looking everywhere for. I love the 72 set. The brightness of the colors is breathtaking. They feel good in my hands. I’m arthritic and have Carpal Tunnel. Your pencils are so easy to use it doesn’t cause increased pain so I’m able to do more work. Even if I can’t win a set I can I stare at them at the store. Lol?!!!!! Thank you so much. Vickie L.
