After making our “Battle of the White Colored Pencils” video, Steve and I were so intrigued by the fact that not all “white” colored pencils look white when used on black coloring paper. In fact, some of them look gray.

With that in mind, Steve challenged me to color a full coloring page using only white colored pencils. So I grabbed my Mandala Bliss, Volume 5 coloring book printed on our awesome black paper and gave it a shot!
I was pleasantly surprised at just how much contrast I could get! Not only could I get light and dark contrast (due to the opaque or translucent nature of the different white pencils), but I was also able to get warm and cool contrast as well! It’s not super noticeable, but some pencils lean warm and others lean cool.

Hello,
I was wondering (you may have said and I just missed it) what are the best alternatives for the pencils that don’t come open stock, that you used? Wow, that was a run on sentence.
Thanks,
