Steve and I purchased 30 sets of inexpensive alcohol markers on Amazon to find the best affordable sets. As is usual in these battles, we were able to identify some good sets and bad sets. Here are the battle results!
Top 10 Winners
One of the things we discovered during these tests is that for the most part, most alcohol markers perform in a similar manner. Some high-end markers, like OLO, use better quality alcohol. However, most China-made markers are quite similar. This means that if you buy any of the markers on our Top 10 list, you will get good markers at a great price.
Please note that we purchased these alcohol markers from Amazon in early 2025–before any tariffs kicked in. So some of these sets may now not meet our criteria of $40US or less.
1. OHUHU Honolulu Brush Tip Markers
Ohuhu alcohol markers continue to be one of the best “budget” brands available. To get them for $40, you need to choose their 48 set. But we believe the quality of these brush tip markers is worth the smaller number of markers.

2. SFAIH Brush Tip Alcohol Markers
To be honest, we kind of hesitate to recommend these markers because they are an obvious Ohuhu Honolulu dupe. So we don’t know if this company ripped off Ohuhu’s design. However, being a dupe, they performed exactly the same as Ohuhu Honolulu and are nearly half the cost. So we’ll leave it to you to decide if you want to purchase them.
3. Bianyo 72 Primary Colors Alcohol Markers Set
If you’d like more colors but want to stay within our top 3 picks, then this set is a good choice.
4. Hangfan Alcohol Markers
When we originally purchased these markers, they had a 120 set available. But now, it looks like they only go up to 84. They are a good set of markers and worth a look. However, if you want a large set at a low price, we suggest the Soucolor set below.
5. Belleza Suprema 100 Colors Alcohol Markers
Another good set with a large number of colors.
6. HIMI Alcohol Marker Set Gift Box
To be honest, I think we both wished that Himi came in even higher in our battle. They are a really fun marker set, with a great case, and a cool unique design. We definitely recommend checking them out!
7. Soucolor 131 Alcohol Marker Set
If you’re looking for the largest number of markers from our battle, this is the set! One of the best values on Amazon right now.
8. ABEIER 120 Colors Alcohol Markers Set
Another large set worth consideration.
9. Kebuye 100 Colors Alcohol Markers Set

As mentioned in the video, just because these brands are not in our top 10 does not mean they are bad. Any of these brands can be fun to color with and make art. They just lacked some of the other things we were looking for when recommending alcohol markers to our community.

Interestingly, the Ohuhu markers are now just about half the price of the SFAIH markers, at least in Canada, $40 for the Ohuhu and $70 for the SFAIH for the same number of pens.
