Analyzing Woomer’s 17 New Colored Pencils [See the New Colors]

Woomer just keeps getting better and better! They’ve released 17 brand-new colored pencil shades, and with this addition, their lineup is now a complete 150-color set — which is pretty exciting news. What I love even more is that if you already own their previous full set, you can grab just these 17 new colors as a standalone purchase, so there’s no need to re-buy everything all over again. They’re also available open stock, which is such a thoughtful touch for colored pencil lovers. Let’s take a close look at these new shades, swatch them out, and even do a little coloring to see how they perform!

Video Description

With their recent release of 17 new pencil colors, Woomer has completed their full 150 set! And if you already have their previous full set, they are offering these 17 new colors as a stand alone purchase…so you don’t have to re-buy the larger sets. Plus, they come open stock. Needless to say, I’m more and more impressed with Woomer and look forward to doing a future review of the full 150 set.

Woomer Color Pencils: 17 New Colors Review | Coloring Bliss

Hello, everyone! My name is Jennifer Stay, and this is Coloring Bliss. Today we’re going to talk about 17 colored pencils — and yes, 17 is a bit of an odd number, but there’s a reason for it.

We’re here to talk about the Woomer August 2026 release of 17 new colors added to their colored pencil line, bringing their total up to 150. That’s why it’s 17 — they’re rounding out the collection to a full 150 colors.

How to Purchase

So if you’ve been collecting Woomer colored pencils like I have, you can purchase just the 17 new colors to satisfy that full-set-syndrome feeling, or if you’ve been waiting to buy Woomer to see where this company goes, they now have a complete 150-pencil set available. Follow the link in the video description to go directly to Woomer’s website, where you can purchase either option.

One thing to keep in mind: ordering from Woomer’s website does take a little time. It took me two weeks to receive my order, so be prepared for that. The 150 set isn’t available on Amazon just yet, but keep an eye out — I believe it will be eventually. I did spot a note on their website suggesting Amazon availability for the 17 new colors around October 15th, so if you’d prefer to order through Amazon, you’ll just need to wait a little longer. As for the 150 set, I didn’t see a specific Amazon date listed, but Woomer does have an email list you can sign up for to get notifications — definitely worth doing if you’re serious about this brand.

The 17-pencil set cost me $19.99, and the 150-pencil set is currently on sale on the Woomer website for $99.99, plus you get a bonus gift. Follow the link in the video description to learn more about the ordering process and shipping costs to your area.

A Few Things Worth Knowing About Woomer

Before we swatch these new pencils, I want to mention a few things I appreciate about Woomer as a brand. They’re available open stock, which means you can order individual pencils one at a time. Once you’ve invested in the 150-set, if you use one up, you can simply replace that single pencil rather than buying the whole set again. That’s a really thoughtful feature for colored pencil collectors.

Woomer really does seem to care about their customers. They’ve listened to feedback, expanded their color range, and made individual pencils available. I’ve had my eye on this brand, and they keep impressing me.

The one downside I’ll mention is that the pencil labels can be a little hard to read due to the metallic print. In fact, there was one pencil in this set where I couldn’t make out the number — it looked like either 573 or 578. There was a smudge on the printing, so that one’s a mystery. That’s why you’ll see a funny-looking number on the swatch chart for that color.

If you’d like to learn more about my overall thoughts on Woomer pencils, I’ve already done two in-depth videos on this channel covering the brand. Follow the link and it’ll take you to both of those so you can do your research before purchasing.

Swatch Chart and Tritone Workbook — Do You Want Them?

Before we get into the swatching, I want to ask you something. Are you as excited about Woomer as I am? If so, please comment below and let me know whether you’d like us to create swatch charts and maybe even a tritone workbook for the Woomer colored pencil line. It takes a significant amount of time and effort to put those together, so I don’t want to dive into that project until I know that’s what you want. Tell me in the comments!

Unboxing and First Look at the 17 New Colors

Alright, let’s swatch! This is actually my first real look at the colors too — I’d only seen the small image on their website — so we’re discovering them together.

Here’s how they came packaged. There’s a little sticker seal to open. Inside, we’ve got some grays, some browns, blue-violets, a blue-green, a red-violet, an orange that reads almost neon, and a couple of orangey-browns. Very interesting mix.

Here’s what Woomer says about this release on their website:

“Expand your Woomer colored pencil collection with 17 brand-new shades designed to bring more depth, variety, and creative possibilities to your artwork. These 17 new colored pencils feature rich pigment with smooth application, easy layering and blending for detailed artwork, and are perfect for illustrations, portraits, and everyday creativity.”

And honestly? I’m impressed. I’m quite inspired by this color selection. In fact, my first instinct after filming this was to grab just these 17 pencils and color a simple illustration to see what I could create with only these shades. Which color is your favorite?

As I was swatching, I was reminded of how creamy these pencils feel going down on the paper. It really makes you want to color with them.

Coloring with the 17 New Colors

For my coloring session, I’m working in Simple Bliss: Summer Adventures. This book is available printed on your choice of paper — this copy is printed on colored pencil paper — or you can get the illustrations as individual coloring cards. There are two options for getting all 100 illustrations, so check those out. And make sure you become at least a free member of Coloring Bliss, because we have more products coming that I’m so excited to share.

I flipped to an illustration I haven’t colored yet — a little underwater-style scene — and decided to challenge myself by using only the 17 new Woomer colors.

Background
I started with the background, creating a frame and filling it in with small, loopy circles using Soft Denim Blue, number 224. Then I used odorless mineral spirits (OMS) and a blending stump to blend everything out so the white of the page disappeared. To finish the background, I added darker corners for a vignette effect using Dusk Blue, number 226.

Seaweed / Kelp
For the green seaweed or kelp, I only had one option from the new set: Dark Aqua, number 285. I colored those in and then used OMS to eliminate the white of the paper and break down the waxes of the colored pencil, which brought out that beautiful color. To add dimension and shadow, I layered Coffee, number 583, on top. I think it worked out really well.

Coral Carrots
For what I’m calling the “coral carrots,” I used the three oranges from the set: number 130 (Tinted Vermilion), number 131 (Warm Vermilion), and number 080 (Brick Red) to build dimension and detail. I came back in with Coffee for additional shading. Since I didn’t have any yellows to lighten things up, I leaned into the darks — and sometimes going darker can actually create the illusion that other areas appear lighter.

Coral
For the coral, I went with Heather Purple, number 154 — the only red-violet in the set. Again, I used Coffee for the shadows to create depth and dimension.

A Note on OMS
I was intentionally using a lot of OMS throughout this coloring session because in a previous video I had noted that the Woomer pencils didn’t seem to work that well with odorless mineral spirits. I wanted to put that to the test. And I’m happy to report — I was wrong. I had no trouble at all with OMS today. Whatever issue I experienced before was likely the result of color combinations that didn’t play well together, not the pencils themselves. I really enjoyed the process of working with OMS and these pencils together.

Gray Stones
For the gray stones, I used all three grays from the 17-set, plus Coffee, to build dimension and depth in the shadows.

Seashells
For the seashells, I used the orange colors and the red-violet, just swapping their placement so that orange sat next to red-violet and red-violet next to orange, helping everything pop.

The Finished Illustration

I’m really happy with how it turned out! Most of the 17 new colors are represented in this little illustration, and I love the result.

If I were to do anything differently, I would have loved to add some white highlights with a white acrylic gel pen, and a yellow would have been a great addition to the palette. I did go back at the end and lightly blend the blue background with my blending stump using the residual OMS on it, which softened it up beautifully. The water background especially — so pretty.

As a little side note: the small container I use for my OMS is fantastic. I’ll put a link to it in the description. I’ll also link to a video where I talk about how I handle liquids in my art studio — rubbing alcohol, water, and so on — so follow that if you’re curious about the setup.

Final Thoughts

Okay, that’s my review of the 17 new Woomer colors. I think you need them!

If you already own the full Woomer set minus these 17, just get the 17. It’s about $20 plus a little shipping, and you’ll have the complete collection. If you haven’t purchased Woomer pencils yet, I’d recommend going straight for the 150-set. These pencils are creamy, they blend beautifully, they work great with OMS — as I proved today — and I think you’ll be very happy with them, especially once you get a nice case to store them in. In my last video, I showed the cat pencil case I purchased, and it works perfectly for organizing the full set. My next task is incorporating these 17 new colors into that existing organization system.

I’m becoming a really big fan of Woomer, and I hope this video helped you learn a little more about this brand and their colored pencil line.

If you enjoyed this video, please hit the thumbs up on your way out. And don’t forget to comment below — let me know if you want us to create Woomer swatch charts and a tritone workbook. Thanks so much for watching. I hope you have a wonderful, colorful, blissful day. Bye-bye, everyone!
